The relationship between stress and autoimmune diseases is intricate. Stress has been shown to be associated with disease onset, and disease exacerbations in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, Graves’ disease as well as other autoimmune conditions.

Ten patients had both AS and sarcoidosis. Most of the time, sarcoidosis and AS occurred simultaneously (n = 7). Antibody testing revealed anti-Jo1 (n = 5), anti-PL12 (n = 4), or anti-PL7 (n = 1). Finally, no patient had a worsening of muscular condition, 5 patients presented respiratory deterioration, 3 remained stable, and 2 showed improvement.

Anti-DFS70 antibodies have been recently included in a new testing algorithm for patients with suspicion of connective tissue diseases (CTDs). This algorithm enables to assess the probability of having a CTD in patients with a positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA) result. The aim of the study was to analyze the inter-method agreement between three different HEp-2 cell substrates for anti-DFS70 detection, focusing on two novel IIF methods that assess the presence of monospecific anti-DFS70 antibodies.

Granulomatosis with polyangitis (GPA; Wegener’s) is a systemic vasculitis characterised by granuloma- tous inflammation and up to 90% of participants will develop sinonasal inflammation during the course of the disease. Despite the many therapeutic advances in the management of GPA, relapses remain a significant issue and, in particular, disease activity in the sinuses and nose often persists when a patient is otherwise in clinical remission.

Organ specific immune-related adverse events are uncommon with anti-PD-1 drugs but the risk is increased compared with control treatments. General adverse events related to immune activation are largely similar. Adverse events consistent with musculoskeletal problems are inconsistently reported but adverse events may be common.

Poriasis is a common chronic inflammatory disease that affects 1% to 2% of the general population of all ages. It is thought that in genetically predisposed individu- als, psoriasis is triggered by environmental factors that vary over the course of life, such as trauma, infections, stress, smok- ing, and the consumption of certain drugs and alcohol. Pa- tients with psoriasis show a greater prevalence of obesity and metabolic syndrome, both of which confer a higher cardio- vascular risk. Inflammation could be the link between pso- riasis and obesity. Diet can play an important role in psoria- sis. It includes many proinflammatory (eg, saturated fatty acids, heme, iron) and anti-inflammatory (eg, dietary fibers, some polyphenols) bioactive compounds

Characterized by chronic widespread pain, generalized hyperalgesia, and psychological stress fibromyalgia (FM) is difficult to diagnose and lacks effective treatments. This case -control study compared the concentration differences of AEA, OEA, PEA, SEA, and 2-AG in 104 women with FM and 116 healthy controls (CON). All participants rated their pain, anxiety, depression, and current health status. The relationships between the lipid concentrations and the clinical assessments were investigated using powerful multivariate data analysis and traditional bivariate statistics.

The antibody-mediated encephalitides occur in persons of all ages, with some types affecting predominantly children and young adults. Certain syndromes are recognizable on clinical grounds, and their autoimmune cause can be established with laboratory tests. Despite the severity of symptoms, prompt diagnosis and treatment lead to improvement or full recovery in most cases.

Cognitive impairment is a significant clinical problem both in multiple sclerosis (MS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. In MS cognitive dysfunction has been associated with brain atrophy and total demyelinating lesion volume. In SLE cognitive impairment is much less understood, and its link to structural brain damage remains to be established.
